{SearchText}Testing your computer:
If your connection has been working but drops, then just try to reconnect. If you can not reconnect then save your work and reboot your computer; this may fix your problem. Otherwise go through the process below:
At no point type the quotes commands are highlighted in! If at any case your computer looks different to the screens below make sure you are connected to the network via a wireless card or AP. Make sure the AP is switched on and plugged into your computer appropriately. Repeat steps 1-10 in "How to setup your computer to receive the SVW network" before dropping us a line.
1. Go to Start>Run

2. Type cmd and press OK

3. Type "ping 127.0.0.1" This tests if networking is setup correctly on your computer. You should see:

If this does not work, then networking is not set up correctly on your computer. Ensure you have run the network wizard and that TCP/IP is installed (right click your network hardware under network connections then look for TCP/IP in the box below- if it is not there then select Install>Protocol>TCP/IP)
4. Type "ipconfig".

If you only see the screen something like above then you have not connected to SVW... try again. If you still can not connect, recheck your antenna is installed correctly, that your wireless hardware is installed correctly, and that your wireless settings have been entered correctly.
You should also see an entry headed PPP adapter + the name you gave your connection. Look at the IP address under this entry which will be 82.xx.xx.xx (where xx some number)- below it is 192.168.1.200. This is your IP address and it should match the one emailed to you along with your username and password. It should also be the same as the Default Gateway entry. See screen below:

Write this number down and then type "ping ( your ip address)". You should see a screen like below, but with 192.168.0.211 replaced with your IP address. Time should be <1ms

Type ping "82.68.79.230". You should get a similar screen to above, but with 82.68.79.227 replacing the numbers above. Time should be between 4 and 20 ms
Type "ping www.zen.co.uk" and note the results: it should be similar to the screen below:

If you see "Pinging www.zen.co.uk [212.23.2.197] with 32 bytes of data" then your computer is looking up the IP address of zen, but something else is stopping pings going through. Reboot your computer and try again.
